The Callisto Protocol defends itself against censorship, Cancelt Japan

The horror title The Callisto Protocol is to be published on December 2 of this year. So far, the game has scored with its creepy and sometimes brutal trailers on players, but such a kind of game can also get a few problems for these reasons. For example, in Germany, games came on the index, especially from time to time when they were classified as too brutally. The most prominent example is probably the predecessor for Dying Light 2. The second part has received a release in Germany, but only in a cut version.

But not all developers want to restrict the vision for their game just to achieve a worldwide release. In the original version, The Callisto Protocol (Buy now) in Japan would have not received a classification, since the studio would not want to change the title, they have now canceled the Japan release, as was announced on the game's official Twitter account :

_ We have decided to stop the Japanese version of The Callisto Protocol. We have come to the conclusion that the game in its current state cannot meet the conditions for a hero classification and that a change in the content does not change the players will offer expected experience. We ask Japanese players for understanding. _

Japanese players who have already pre-ordered the title will of course receive a refund. Nevertheless, it is quite a shame that The Callisto Protocol will simply not appear in Japan. What exactly hero (Computer Entertainment Rating Organization) disturbed about the game does not arise from the statement of the developers, but it was probably due to the sheer brutality and the sometimes disturbing scenes of the game.

The comments of the tweet are understandably filled by Japanese players, who are not at all satisfied with this development. Some users also want to find out whether the other versions of The Callisto Protocol will have a Japanese voice output. A little tedious, but this could give Japanese fans into their hands despite this.

At least in Germany, The Callisto Protocol will be released with a release from the age of 18.
